My first art series in 2025

My first art series in 2025

My first blurry drawing, titled Don't Focus on Me came out last year in 2023. At that time, that one off drawing, was never intended to be the start of my first series.

I felt good about that drawing, it is still one of my favorites to this day, so much that I wanted to make a drawing inspired by it. I later created a second blurry drawing, titled Distant Memories, which was based of my hometown, in Wexford, Ireland.

Looking back, I felt that the first drawing was necessary, and important for my art portfolio, as I never had anything specifically consistent to show in terms of style of graphite drawing. I finished my 3rd blurry drawing, early December titled Auto. Unfortunately I didn't think too much of the series, as I left the out of focused work, to focus on other things. Looking back 10 months later, I realized I had something I could pass as a series of work. I had finished my latest one, a few months ago.

Now, how many works can you call a series? 5? 10? 25?

I have no idea, but I know it's more than 4.

Writing this post, it is currently 9:13 pm on a Tuesday, mid November. With only 4 blurry artworks completed, I am looking to finish this off with approximately 15 works, sometime in 2025. I have noticed that my drawings are taking quicker than ever before, which is also why my newer artworks, are less hyperreal, more semi-abstract.

I hope to create an exhibition of just blurry art, by the time mid 2025 comes around. If I can make 15 pieces, I feel that it will be enough artworks to call this series final.
